Christmas Eve 2012

We had a wonderful Christmas. One of the best I can remember! Probably because the girls are at such a fun age. They just loved every little thing that we did this year. We started off with a Christmas Eve morning spent at home relaxing. We did a little craft, and the girls went down for an early rest time.  We met up with my family at our favorite Chinese restaurant for an early dinner. D1 was the photographer behind these pics…

After dinner, we went to my parents’ church for their candle light service, and then back to their house for presents and more food. The girls were so excited to dig into all the presents. They each sang a song for us before we started…DSC_0021 DSC_0023

The girls got their first American Girl dolls this year. D1 got one with brown hair and blue eyes and D2 got a Bitty Baby with blonde hair and blue eyes (she got the doll for her birthday a few days before). They were so excited to get doll stuff!DSC_0032 DSC_0046 DSC_0037 DSC_0038 DSC_0050

They had such a fun time:) Everyone else waited until they were finished to open their gifts…DSC_0069 DSC_0061 DSC_0059 DSC_0052 DSC_0057 DSC_0026

D1 got all of her stuff set up and played “cafe” for the rest of the night. At first, her new doll’s name was “Cakebaker,” but the next day she changed it to “Snowflake.” DSC_0074 DSC_0077

After all the presents were opened, we ate some more:) Mimi helped D1 write a little note for Santa, and we headed home. IMG_3319

Almost forgot, my sister has this ridiculous bear costume that she has had for years. She loves it and it makes random appearances. Well, on Christmas Eve, we got a visit from the Christmas Bear…DSC_0004

Matt and I were worn out when we got home, but we managed to get the stocking stuffed and the gifts laid out for Christmas morning. I also made a french toast bake that sat in the refrigerator over night. Stay tuned for part 2!
