Christmas Day 2012

We all slept late on Christmas Day. It was so wonderful! Around 9am, we all found our way to the den. I popped the french toast in the oven to bake, and we settled in to open the gifts we got for each other. The girls were so excited to open their stockings and other gifts…DSC_0079 DSC_0086 DSC_0087

Delaney got exactly what she wanted…dress up clothes. Not just any dress up clothes…My Little Pony dress up clothes:) Darcy got Yo Gabba Gabba plush toys that she really liked also. They also each got a new bedtime book (Winnie the Pooh for D2, Disney Princesses for D1), and some new art supplies.

Matt and I always fill each other’s stockings. This year, my sweet husband got me a new book (Seven by Jen Hatmaker), Apple Airport (so I can play music throughout the house a little easier) and a gorgeous new coffee mug. I love that his gifts reflected three things that he knows I love: books, music and coffee.

It was such a sweet time with out little family. We read the nativity story from the Jesus Storybook Bible and ate our french toast (which was amazing…let me know if you want the recipe) and bacon that daddy cooked. The rest of the morning was spent with each other, playing with all of our new toys:)DSC_0089 DSC_0091 DSC_0090

After rest time, we headed to Matt’s family’s house to eat dinner. The girls loved getting to play with all of their cousins and Aunt Amy. DSC_0122 DSC_0105 DSC_0094

Every year, all of the grandchildren preform a Christmas song either by voice or piano. All of the boys played the piano, and all the girls chose to perform a song by singing. My girls sang Jingle Bells…DSC_0140

We opened gifts and had a great time spending time with Matt’s side of the family. We had such a wonderful Christmas!!
